Suicide Information

According to the Wisconsin Department of Health & Family Services, in 2007 throughout Wisconsin, 724 people died by suicide; 199 died by homicide.  Of the deaths by suicide, 47 percent were due to firearms.  Men aged 45-65 comprised 220 of the 724 deaths.  Suicide is the second leading cause of death in youth. It is important to know that most suicides are impulsive acts.  Suicide victims are not trying to end their lives...they're trying to end their pain.

Many millions of hours are spent by survivors trying to cope with the loss of a loved one to suicide. The lives of those left behind...friends, parents, siblings and many others...will never be the same.
